On the Wine route to Herzegovina, this summer tourists will have the opportunity to enjoy the unforgettable taste of local varieties of wine – Žilavka and Blatina. Vine experts and food lovers will enjoy ham and Herzegovina cheese surrounded by land that has been known for centuries for its vineyards. It is believed that wine producers of this area have retained the same wine –making system since Roman era.

More and more tourists are traveling the Wine route, Semir Temim, deputy director of the Tourist Board of the Herzegovina-Neretva Canton says. For all those who decide to come they will have the wine cellar of 24 different types of wine, which means that one has to make a tour of several Herzegovina cities from Ljubuski, Mostar, Capljina, Stolac to Trebinje.

He highlighted the importance of the Wine Roads, especially due to the nearby Dalmatia that is visited by large number of tourists. The construction of Corridor Vc will contribute to the tourism development in those areas, but also to better connection of the south Herzegovina with continental Bosnia.
