The Tourist Board of the Herzegovina-Neretva Canton is planning to go ahead with the project of mountain tourism in the northern parts of Herzegovina. That would include regulation of bicycle tracks and mountain houses on the mountains of Prenj, Cvrsnica, Cabulja and Vran. As we have been said, the proposal is already drafted amounting to 300 00 EUR.

These activities coincide with the initiative to put the mountains under the protection and label them as national parks, since that area is known for its endemic species and plants.

Bosnian ecological associations have been struggling for several years to declare the area a national park, so that a few days ago an Initiative for Prenj was signed, involving several eco societies and other institutions - Fondeko Association, Centre for Environment, Eco Team, Re: Element and Eco Action.

On this occasion, a bicycle race across Sarajevo, Mostar and Bihac took place as a sort of a promotional event.
