Collection of the world’s most innovative, unique, and creative boat designs.
PAPER BOAT Artist Frank Boelter set sails in his lifesize paper boat as he leaves a shipyard in Lauenburg, Germany. He constructed the 9-metre vessel from 'Tetrapack' and fearlessly sailed it up the Elbe, despite the fact the light material is more commonly used for packaging milk.

ELLIPTICAL BOAT It is now possible to “walk on water” with TU FiN, a 26-foot boat powered by a walking exercise machine. It was created for a student competition by a group of talented designers from Germany. It is big enough to carry a passenger up front, and can reach top speed of 6.5 knots.

TRANSPARENT CANOE
This hard shell transparent canoe provides 100% visibility. It weighs only 40 lbs and is lighter than most aluminum or wood canoes.
GUITAR BOAT Australian indy-rocker Josh Pyke is sailing on a giant guitar that appears to be an exact replica of his favorite guitar. It is not an actual playable instrument, which is just as well. Jamming on this thing would require far too much effort.

SOFA BOAT It appears to be designed for allowing people on big, fancy yachts to travel short distances to other people's big, fancy yachts. If nothing else, it's eco-friendly! ZIPPER BOAT
Yasuhiro Suzuki based his project on the zipper. Suzuki's zipper boat is based on a small scale model he built in 2004 and successfully tested on a local pond. The full-size version is currently undergoing sea trials to evaluate its rollover risk - until it's certified, Suzuki won't be allowed to carry passengers.
SOLAR POWERED BOAT
World's largest solar-powered boat uses over 5,000 square feet of solar paneling. While it's not the most exciting name, it certainly speaks to the boat's size. Christened the PlanetSolar, the 101 foot by 49 foot yacht is hailed by its designers as the largest solar-powered ship in the world. WOODEN FERRARI BOAT Livio De Marchi sculpted a full size Ferrari F50 boat out of wood. With engine built in, it can sail across Italian channels.
