Multimedia Center on the Mountain Trebevic

Construction works to build a Multimedia center, located at the site of Mali Studenac Trebevic will be completed in a month, confirmed to eKapija.ba Blago Mikulic, coordinator of the project.
The construction of the center was initiated by the Croatian Cultural Society "Napredak" in order to revive Trebevic Mountain, a prewar favorite gathering place of Sarajevo citizens, where once tourist facilities and other recreational contents were readily available.
The Multimedia Center will cover 980 SM with three apartments, six double and six triple bedrooms, a kitchen, restaurant, multi-purpose hall which can receive 50 visitors.
“The Center can serve for various purposes - seminars, meetings, art colonies, mountaineering association ...", explains Mikulic, stressing that the development will be open to all visitors, both from BiH and abroad.
Construction work cost roughly 1.1 million KM, for which the funds were provided by the Croatian government, NGOs from Italy (Rome) and from Nexe Group of Nasice.
Elektroprivreda BiH, Sarajevo Canton and the Municipality of Stari Grad, helped with the electric power supply while funds for road construction were ensured by the Government of CS with "Sarajevošume" as a contractor.
Upon completion of the construction, Mikulic says decoration of the indoors and outdoors follows, so that everything would be completed by the middle of next year, when the center is planned to open.
"We expect that the Center should spur further development of mountain lodges and ski lifts, restoring to this mountain its previous luster, "said Mikulic.
