SEPTEMBER 4, 2010 - The conference entitled "Capital investment and capital market in the Federation" will be an opportunity to exchange opinions and attitudes about prospects for development of capital markets, in relation to a new round of investment that was announced in the Bosnian Federation. October, 5 2010 is the date of that conference taking place in Sarajevo, confirmed Zlatan Dedic, a Managing Director of the SASE.
Around 200 government officials, eminent personalities from the sector of real economy and finance , capital markets, as well as independent experts and representatives of the academic community in BiH and the region, is expected to come.
Since the announced projects of the Federal Government in the energy sector and road infrastructure have drawn a great deal of attention, objective of the conference, says Dedic, is exactly that - to present investment opportunities for those projects, but also to point to the possibility of financing some development projects through the capital market in the BH Federation.
"We expect that the conference, on the one hand, attracts potential investors and help make decisions about investing in BiH, and on the other, to direct the holders of projects towards the possibility of financing by issuing securities," said Director of the SASE.
Until now at the territory of Federation, according to Dedic, there were no cases of projects funded by securities. "If we exclude capital projects of local communities in the RS, the conclusion is that decision-makers of BiH mainly opt for some other models of funding such as bank loans, concessions, joint ventures, etc. Since the financing projects by issuing securities is widely accepted in developed economies, I do not see any impediment for Bosnia to start using the same model in the near future, " Dedic was optimistic.
Presenting new projects
The conference is organized to commemorate the ninth anniversary of SASE, and it will report about news on capital markets of the Federation, at the same time presenting the project "Going public and public issuing”, Report on the state of corporate governance in BiH and importance of technical analysis in the capital markets when it comes to developing countries.
"We will try to get an answer to the question of why institutional investors (funds, banks, insurance companies) are not sufficiently active in investing to the capital market of the BH Federation ", concluded Dedic.
