2,5 mil KM investment: New furniture plant opened in Petrovo

September 7, 2010 - A furniture plant opened yesterday in Peterovo – Eco-Line, a two and a half million investment, employing 60 workers, confirmed for eKapija Radojica Rakanovic the plant’s CEO.
The opening ceremony attended delegation of RS government and representatives of local authorities, giving their support to this export-oriented company. "Factory in the trial period was exporting 200,000 KM worth goods a month, which is annually about 2.5 million KM. After the official launch of the production, our goal is to ramp up the export to 4 million KM, "said Rakanovic.
The factory is a byproduct of a joint investment by a businessman of Petrovo and partner companies from the Netherlands. Milorad Dodik, RS Prime Minister, stressed that the factory is an example of the how and where to build economic future of the RS Entity.
Rakanovic announced soon opening of other furniture plants by Holland Group Petrovo, which last year bought at an auction three closed factories, including the former plant of insulation materials, yard and lawn area covering 23 000 SM.
Eco-Line is currently the biggest exporter of Petrovo Municipality, exporting its entire production load over to the Netherlands.
