September 7, 2010 - The use of wild healing herbs in the nutrition is becoming a worldwide trend. In the world markets, those plants are priceless. B-H is rich in wild healing plants, unlike most European countries that have the money but not this gift of nature.

Wild garlic traders say that there is a high demand for the plant, whose medicinal properties are known for ages. It grows in rich moist habitats, meadows, shady and soggy flowery meadows, under shrubs and deciduous forests and mountains.

It is used for difficulties in breathing, wound healing, heart diseases, and as such it is an ideal remedy for blood cleansing, treating blemished skin and the list goes on and on.

A Swiss physician and self-taught connoisseur of plants Kunzle, especially lauds this plant, noting that wild onions cleanse entire body, purifying body from toxic, unhealthy substances, heal blood and destroy poisonous substances.

"Sickly people, those with skin problems, rheumatism should regard the wild onions as pure gold, "he says.

In B-H there are several companies that are engaged in buying off these herbs from collectors, but they say the biggest problem for export to European countries is what else, but a restrictive visa system.

Almira Sabic CEO of Ecoherb, says that world markets always go for EU goods, and only then for BH products.

“A serious issue is also the black market coupled with drop of interest in herb collecting although herb collectors are the most important link of the chain”, says Sabic pointing out that other than wild garlic, Bosnia exports linden, chamomile, leaf of stinging nettle and blackberry to EU markets.
